  Central Ontario is home to 20 of our hydroelectric facilities, some of which, like our Sills Island Generating Station, have been part of their community for more than one hundred years.
Eastern Ontario

  Eastern Ontario is host to one gas-fired generating station and 15 of our hydroelectric generating stations on the St. Lawrence, Ottawa and Madawaska Rivers.
Northeastern Ontario

  Northeastern Ontario contains 14 of our hydroelectric stations, including several we built or redeveloped through key partnerships with local Indigenous communities.

Transit electrification

Clean electricity on the move

Every time you choose to take the train or bus instead of driving, you are making the environmentally responsible choice. Public transit emits far fewer greenhouse gases per trip than personal vehicles do. But what if transit could go from releasing less emissions to releasing none at all?

This is the future envisioned by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and its subsidiary, PowerON Energy Solutions.

OPG subsidiary, PowerON Energy Solutions, designs, builds, operates, and maintains charging infrastructure for transit agencies including Toronto Transit Commission, Durham Region Transit, Oakville Transit, York Region Transit, Regina Transit, Milton Transit, and Barrie Transit, with contracts ranging up to 20 years.

Electrifying the Toronto Transit Commission

OPG subsidiary, PowerON Energy Solutions, will design, build, co-invest in, and operate the charging and related infrastructure to support TTC electrification over the next 20 years.

PowerON Energy Solutions

OPG created PowerON to support fleet transition projects by providing turnkey solutions encompassing all electrification infrastructure, including chargers, battery storage, backup generation, and intelligent energy management.

Transit agencies across Canada are partnering with PowerON to achieve their zero-emission fleet goals and meet municipal climate targets. PowerON's comprehensive turnkey solutions enable these agencies to focus on their core mission of moving people while we handle the complexities of charging infrastructure design, implementation, and long-term operations.

PowerON is actively implementing charging infrastructure at transit facilities throughout the country, with projects ranging from small pilot deployments to Canada’s largest transit electrification program. As these fleets transition to electric, PowerON's energy management expertise helps optimize electricity costs while ensuring reliable service delivery, making sustainable transportation both practical and economically viable for communities across Canada.
