Life powered by clean, reliable energy

Electricity is the lifeblood of the modern world, pulsing unseen across vast distances to meet our every need at home and in business. In the years ahead, as Ontario and the world decarbonize to meet our climate change goals, the role of electricity in our lives will only grow in importance, powering everything from our daily commute to the heating of our homes.

Several of Ontario Power Generation's (OPG's) generating stations have been powering Ontario for more than a century. We are primed and ready to continue to play this essential role for our province in the century ahead.

Our power generation

Making clean, reliable, safe, and low-cost power is the core of our business and the future of our economy.

To keep Ontario running, OPG operates 75 generating stations, including 66 hydroelectric stations, two nuclear plants, and more.

Our role in the system

OPG is Ontario's largest electricity generator responsible for supplying clean, reliable, safe, and low-cost power to electricity transmission and distribution companies.

Our commitment to safety

Safety is OPG's top priority. Every day we are focused on keeping our communities and our employees safe.

Our host communities

With 75 generating stations, OPG's electricity comes from all over Ontario. We are not just in these communities to make power - we are there to make a positive difference. OPG is proud to give back to each community we operate in.
