Where electrification happens

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and our employees are proud of the role communities are playing in Ontario’s mission to decarbonize. We couldn’t generate our clean power without the support of our host communities and Indigenous partners.

We are also proud to be part of the community – as employees, but also residents. Beyond electricity generation, OPG is proud to be an engaged community member that encourages and supports local organizations and initiatives that help keep our communities strong and healthy. Explore how we support our many partner communities across Ontario.

Corporate citizenship in action

Since 1999, OPG’s Corporate Citizenship Program (CCP) has been proud to provide charitable, not-for-profit, and in-kind support to grassroots host community initiatives.

Over the last 20-plus years, the CCP has generated millions of dollars of local benefits for communities that host our facilities. Our community citizenship is also reflected in the hundreds of hours many of our employees devote annually to volunteer work within their communities, and through the Employee and Pensioner Charity Campaign, which raises around $2 million annually for local charities of choice.

Acknowledging traditional and treaty territories

OPG respectfully acknowledges that the lands on which its generating stations and other assets are located are within the traditional and treaty territory of many Indigenous Nations and communities.
