DGR public hearing: details

In the fall of 2014, OPG held a Public Hearing for our proposed DGR project, a lasting solution, for low and intermediate level nuclear waste.

The hearing took place on two separate occasions over 33 days during a two-year period (2013 & 2014) in the Municipality of Kincardine and in the Town of Saugeen Shores.

The hearing gave participants the opportunity to hear about the DGR Project and the results of the Environmental Impact Statement from OPG, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and independent subject experts.

Members of the public and Indigenous communities also had the opportunity to provide their views about the DGR Project to the Joint Review Panel.

Documents and reports resulting from OPG’s Public Consultation are available on the OPG Document Archive.
