OPG's Northeast Plant Group (NEPG) is headquartered in Timmins and has 13 hydroelectric generating stations, many of which have been a part of the local communities for decades.
As a proud and engaged community partner, the NEPG strives to make a difference and help improve the well-being of the communities that host its operations. We believe this is essential to being a good corporate citizen and neighbour. The NEPG through the Corporate Citizenship Program (CCP) provides (charitable, not-for-profit) support to over 75 grass roots community initiatives on average annually in Timmins, Kapuskasing, New Liskeard, and surrounding areas.
NEPG’s community partnerships focus on the areas of:
- Environment
- Education, and community (health and safety, arts and culture, youth amateur sport, humanitarian and local causes)
- As well as support for Indigenous initiatives.
NEPG’s community partnerships are diverse and include support of: Science Timmins, Moose Cree First Nation’s “Making it Happen Career Fair”, Nishnawabe Aski Development Fund, Canadian Peregrine Foundation Project School Visits, Special Olympics Ontario - Timmins, New Liskeard Fall Fair, Kapuskasing Festival of Lights, Timmins and Area Women in Crisis Shelter, student awards, along with numerous other initiatives.
