Honest Frankie the Frog’s Shoreline Review

A puppet show on the natural and cultural history of the St. Lawrence River. Meet Marlin from the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg Nation, Pierre a fur trader from New France, Sandy the Lumberjack and Log Driver, and Max, a shoreline developer. With the help of several colourful animal puppets, learn how to protect and restore the ancient Great Lake waterway.

Plugging into Nature

Edward loves his screen time! One day he goes outside and meets some creatures and discovers the “neighborwood” – A show all about nature connection, mental and physical wellness and restoring nature.

The Big History Mystery

Glen loves exploring nature and has collected fossils for many years. One day he buys a time machine and goes back in time to meet his fossil friends. This musical puppet show is full of geology, earth science and history.

Register for one of two shows at (12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.). The one-hour interactive presentations will feature native Ontario wildlife ambassadors* and information about their species, adaptations, and habitat. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet with incredible wildlife friends like opossums, hawks, blanding’s turtles, owls and more!

Welcome to the amusement park – where we’ll be bumping, spinning, zipping and rolling! Discover the actions and reactions of bumper cars. Explore the forces at work when you spin. This show allows guests to explore “magical chemical potions, the wonders of dry ice, and the dynamics of air pressure. Guests of the show will investigate the three states of matter in fun and novel ways, take a carbon taste test and witness super-spectacular (and mysterious) bubbling potion. This show will excite every child’s scientific curiosity.

Wacky Water Workshop

Water, water everywhere! Explore the amazing properties of water – density, solvency, and surface tension in this hands-on look at how water works. See a wave generator and learn how oil spills are cleaned up.

Family Friendly March Break Environmental Workshops

Join the River Institute for interactive workshops focusing on fish and aquatic invertebrate ecology. Register today for an unforgettable experience where you will unlock your inner scientist through hands-on learning experiences with real environmental scientists.

The River Institute provides educational experiences that motivate, encourage, and inspire young people to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

Fish Ecology Workshop

During this workshop, guests will explore fish species ecology, diversity, anatomy, and various research methods involving fish. Additional content will be presented that will allow guests to learn more about the food web, and how to identify different types of fish species.

Aquatic Invertebrate Ecology

Come learn about invertebrates, their importance, and the many species that call the St. Lawrence River home! This hands-on workshop provides an opportunity to observe displays, work with microscopes and understand the importance of water quality as it relates to invertebrates.

March Break Winter Walk and Workshop

Join staff from the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) for a guided snowshoe, or hiking adventure in and around the woods on the banks of the St. Lawrence River near the centre. Warm up afterwards with some hot chocolate while partaking in a variety of fun educational activities inside the Centre. Come learn all about winter tree ID, watersheds and hydrology, local biodiversity and conservation practices, wildlife track and scat ID, and more!
