Through a variety of engaging and hands-on activities, participants will become a chemist, investigate sound, discover aeronautics, and explore the different genes. Recommended for ages 4 – 12. We welcome families to participate and engage. Limit of one kit per family. |
Creation Story on Canvas WorkshopSunday, Aug 6, 202311 a.m. to 1 p.m.
REGISTER NOW | Join the Native North American Travelling College to learn about the traditional Haudenosaunee Creation Story. This will include the Creation story’s significance, different lessons found within, and how it applies to the Haudenosaunee culture. At the end, participants will receive a canvas to paint their interpretation of a specific part of the story. Recommended ages 10 and up. Note: One canvas will be allotted to each registrant. |
New Anglers WorkshopSunday, Aug. 13, 2023Two sessions:
Session 1: REGISTER NOWSession 2: REGISTER NOW | Calling all new anglers! Join TackleShare for a presentation about fish identification, lure techniques, and fish regulations. Then, practice your skills at the various workstations that include a casting activity and knot tying. Recommended for ages 6 and up. |
Good Clean Fun WorkshopThursday, Aug. 17, 202310 to 11 a.m. | Join Scientists in School for this explosive event with chemical fun! Investigate surface tension and how it shapes the behavior of liquids, while exploring the chemistry of bath bombs as you make your own. Recommended for ages 4 – 12. We welcome families to participate and engage. Limit of one kit per family. |
Fish Ecology WorkshopWednesday, Aug. 19, 2023Two sessions:
Session 1: REGISTER NOWSession 2: REGISTER NOW | Join the scientists from the St. Lawrence River Institute to learn all about fish! Participants will learn about the ecology, diversity, and anatomy of fish, while having the chance to collect field samples and observe a real fish dissection. Recommended for all ages. |

REGISTER NOW | Join Glen Caradus and the Paddling Puppeteers for a musical puppet show filled with geology, earth science and history. With the help of a time machine, watch as Glen travels back in time to meet the fossils when they were alive. Recommended for all ages. |
