Darlington refurbishment project

Once complete, this project will enable production of clean, safe, low-cost, and emission-free electricity from Darlington for 30 more years.

  Central Ontario is home to 20 of our hydroelectric facilities, some of which, like our Sills Island Generating Station, have been part of their community for more than one hundred years.
Eastern Ontario

  Eastern Ontario is host to one gas-fired generating station and 15 of our hydroelectric generating stations on the St. Lawrence, Ottawa and Madawaska Rivers.
Northeastern Ontario

  Northeastern Ontario contains 14 of our hydroelectric stations, including several we built or redeveloped through key partnerships with local Indigenous communities.

  Northwestern Ontario hosts 11 of our hydroelectric stations as well as a former coal generating station that we converted to use biomass as fuel.

  The golden horseshoe of Southern Ontario is home to key operations including our Darlington and Pickering nuclear stations in Clarington and Pickering.

Supercharging Ontario's EV future

Electric vehicles, or EVs, are the future of transportation. By switching from gas to electricity to power their commutes, Ontarians can help fight climate change and save money.

When you power your vehicle with electricity, it matters how that electricity is made.

Fortunately, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has worked hard to help decarbonize Ontario’s electricity system, which is now one of the cleanest in the world. Most of our power comes from nuclear and hydro, two clean, low-emitting sources of electricity. When it comes to the EV revolution, we have positioned Ontario to get the most climate-fighting bang for our buck.

Charge up - the energy transition is here

OPG and its partner, Hydro One, are rapidly building out the Ivy Charging Network, which will be the one of the province’s largest EV fast-charging networks to get you from A to B and back again with ease. Ivy Home is also providing residents with an all-in-one charging solution at home.

Small modular reactors

SMR. Three letters that are critical in the fight against climate change. OPG will be the first power company in North America to build an SMR and connect it to the grid at our Darlington nuclear site, with plans to build three more.
