Key Priorities
License Period 2008-2013

Over the next five years, the overall strategy for Pickering B builds on the improvements made during the current licensing period with a continued focus on Safety, Improved Equipment Reliability, Organizational Effectiveness, and Preservation of the Station.

The Station’s Goals and Objectives are centered on driving the right behaviors and work programs to achieve sustainable performance and business results. The following key work programs are intended to align the organization:

1. Equipment Reliability Improvement Plan
Focus on continual improvements to the overall material condition of the station and a focus on consistent proactive maintenance of the station.

2. Work Management Improvement Plans
Implementing solutions that continue to improve the overall planning, readiness and execution of our work management process along with the successful completion of shortened station outages.

3. Maintenance Improvement Plan
Address issues associated with control maintenance in order to improve the long term staff capability within the organization. Employees are properly trained and have the right skills and experience to effectively execute their work programs.

4. Leadership Development and Management Effectiveness
Developing effective leadership and accountability throughout the business and leading the organization to sustain and improve the culture.

5. Human Performance Improvement Plan
Minimize the number of human performance events and the impacts to ensure the safety of our employees, preservation of our assets, and optimization of our workforce.

6. Standardized Oversight & Reporting
Continuous improvement of the effectiveness of our oversight processes and performance reporting to ensure business commitments and results are achieved.
