Environmental Assessment
In December 2007, OPG submitted the Environmental Assessment Study Report (EASR) on the Refurbishment and Continued Operation of the Pickering B Nuclear Generation Station to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Click below to review the EASR document and Technical Support Documents (TSDs).
The report and the 13 technical study support documents contain more than 4000 pages of information and are the culmination of almost two years of environmental studies and public consultation. The reports conclusion is there are unlikely to be any significant effects from the Pickering B refurbishment.
You can view the document and technical support documents by clicking below.
If you would like a CD version of the EASR and TSDs, please click here to send us an email and we will be happy to send you a copy. Please provide your full mailing address to ensure accurate delivery.

Next Steps
After the CNSC accepts the EASR, they will prepare a Draft Environmental Assessment Screening Report and issue it for public review and comment. This will be followed by a public hearing, likely in the Pickering area. The CNSC will then make a decision on the acceptability of the EA. Check back here for updates as we progress through the next steps in the process.
