We have a winner of our name the tunnel boring machine contest!
Grade 6 science students from Port Weller Public School won the contest with the name “Big Becky”
The name was chosen by a panel in part because of its tie-in with the name of our Sir Adam Beck Generating Station.
We also liked the use of “big” in the title as the tunnel boring machine is the largest hard rock boring machine in the world and the tunnel is one of the biggest in the world.
Congratulations to Mr. Dyck’s Grade 6 Science Class at Port Weller Public School in St. Catharines.
