HISTORICAL NOTE:
The station is correctly known as "Haig's Reach". The reach is named for Thomas Haig (born 1853 in Seymour Township) who farmed on Lot 8, Concession 3 of Seymour Township (the east side of the river at Lock 10) just below the powerhouse in 1878. The Haig name still exists throughout this part of the country.

The name "Hague" was likely created by government surveyors during the railway and canal construction era. It is used only be government authorities and Ontario Hydro.

MISCELLANEOUS:
The powerhouse crane is a 13.6 tonne (15 ton), one hoist model supplied by the Northern Crane Works of Walkerville, Ontario.
