ONTARIO POWER GENERATION'S DARLINGTON UNIT 4 SHUT DOWN

[Clarington]: Ontario Power Generation's Darlington Unit 4 was safely shut down today to perform a planned maintenance outage. This outage comes after the unit had operated for over 400 consecutive days without interruption.

Maintenance scheduled during this outage will focus on the continuous improvement of the station's reliability and will include inspections and maintenance of many of the nuclear and non-nuclear systems including the turbine generator.

Darlington units 1, 3 and 4 are all operating at 100 per cent delivering nearly 2,600 MW of electricity to the Ontario electricity grid.
