TWO ADDITIONAL UNITS TAKEN OFFLINE AT NANTICOKE GENERATING STATION
[Nanticoke]: Picketing by the Society of Energy Professionals continue to impact on Ontario Power Generation. The Society is picketing OPG operations in a secondary picket in its dispute with Hydro One which is a separate corporation.
Ontario Power Generation is taking steps to further reduce operations at its Nanticoke Generating Station as a result of the labour dispute between the Society of Energy Professionals (the Society) and Hydro One.
In addition to the two units that were shut down earlier today, the station is now reducing output by an additional two units. Staff at the station are continuing to operate the remaining four units.
All other available OPG generating resources across the province are being fully utilized to support Ontario's electricity demands.
