[Pickering]: Ontario Power Generation's Pickering Unit 8 was safely shut down on Sunday, January 7 to perform inspections and possible maintenance on the Unit's steam generators - part of the conventional side of the plant.

Pickering Units 1 and 5 are operating at or near full power.
