Do you get questions from friends and neighbours about OPG initiatives? Here are some quick facts you can share with them on OPG's greenhouse gas plan.

1. Most OPG generation emits no CO2. OPG is upgrading and building new low or non-CO2 emitting plants like hydro and nuclear, to cut emissions further before the thermal plants scheduled to close by 2014. 2. A range of in-house energy efficiency improvements since 1994 has saved 2.2 million kilowatt hours, avoiding more than 2.2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions a year. 3. Trees absorb CO2, and since 2000, OPG has planted almost 3 million of them – offsetting 1.6 million tonnes of CO2 over their lifetime.
