An electrifying century
- 1892 - electricity is first made in Ontario at Niagara Falls.
- 1906 - the Ontario government creates the Hydro-Electric Power
Commission to ensure power for all Ontarians.
- 1910 - power lines start delivering electricity to towns across
southern Ontario.

World's biggest generating station
- 1925 - the largest generating station in the world (at the time) is completed in Niagara Falls. It is now known as Sir Adam Beck Generating Station.

The nuclear age dawns
- 1962 - a small experimental nuclear generating station starts up in Rolphton on the Ottawa River.
- 1970 - Ontario's electrical supply is merged into one synchronized grid.
- 1971 - the first unit of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station comes online.
- 1974 - Ontario Hydro replaces the Hydro-Electric Power Commission.
- 1977 - the first unit of the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station comes online near Kincardine.
- 1989 - the first unit of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station comes online near Clarington.

OPG is created
- 1999 - Ontario Hydro is divided into three companies, including Ontario Power Generation.
- 2006 - OPG launches the Learning Zone - this website - to provide information to young people in Ontario and beyond.
