Northwest - Atikokan / Thunder Bay

In the Community
OPG's Northwest Plant Group (PG), headquartered in Thunder Bay, has 10 hydroelectric generating stations as well as the Thunder Bay and Atikokan Generating Stations. These facilities have been part of the local communities for decades - like the Kakabeka Generating Station that just celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Our Northwest Plant Group is doing its part to be a good neighbour, having contributed to over 40 local not-for-profit initiatives.
Residents of Thunder Bay, Atikokan and Northwestern Ontario now have access to state-of-the-art health care with the opening in 2004 of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC), a new acute care facility. OPG's Thunder Bay, Atikokan and Northwest plant sites were there to lend the community a helping hand with a gift of $100,000 to the Centre's Care Beyond Compare Campaign. The support was targeted to the OPG Nuclear Medicine Clinic at the new centre to provide screening and diagnostic procedures for cancer, cardiac, lung and bone diseases.
This past year we were pleased to be a sponsor of the 5th annual Thunder Bay Blues Festival as well as the Kakabeka Street Fair.
