Nanticoke GS in the Community
OPG’s Nanticoke Generating Station (GS) located on the north shore of Lake Erie in Haldimand County has been a part of the local community for close to 40 years.
As a proud partner in the community that hosts our facility, the Nanticoke GS has supported more than 200 local not-for-profit initiatives in the last three years alone, in Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Hagersville, Jarvis, Port Dover, Waterford and Simcoe.
Nanticoke’s community citizenship focuses on environmental stewardship. Environmental initiatives, which Nanticoke helps support, include the Grand River Conservation Authority’s restoration of Outdoor Education Programs at the Taquanyah Nature Centre, Ducks Unlimited Canada’s wetland restoration work at Big Creek National Wildlife Area, and the Southern Ontario Bald Eagle Monitoring Program operated by Bird Studies Canada.
