Bruce County

OPG’s Western Waste Management Facility (WWMF) located in Kincardine has been a part of the community in Bruce County for more than 40 years.
As our way of giving back to the community that hosts our facility, the WWMF has supported more than 120 local not-for-profit initiatives in Kincardine, Saugeen Shores and the surrounding area.

In 2007, OPG was named "Business of the Year" by the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce as part of their annual Community Achievement Awards. The "Business of the Year" award is given to the company "who exhibits excellence in business growth, customer service and community leadership".
OPG's WWMF helped Bruce County develop a multi-use, year-round trail system in the Brant Tract County Forest. In addition to financially supporting the development and maintenance of the environmentally sustainable trail, WWMF staff volunteered their time to help build it.
OPG also proudly sponsors events at the Kincardine Scottish Festival including the Canadian Scottish Athletic Federation's Championships, the demonstration events and the Highland Games “Heavy Events” competition where athletes toss telephone pole-sized logs.
