Tom Mitchell
President and Chief Executive Officer

Tom Mitchell is the President & Chief Executive Officer at Ontario Power Generation. He was appointed to his current position in April, 2009.

Prior to assuming his current position at OPG, he was Chief Nuclear Officer directly responsible for the safe and reliable operation of Darlington, Pickering A and Pickering B nuclear stations. He has also served as Site Vice President, Pickering B and Senior Vice President, Pickering B. Upon joining OPG in April, 2002, he was Vice President, Nuclear Operations and was responsible for providing support to Pickering and Darlington stations.

Tom Mitchell has over 30 years of nuclear experience. Before joining OPG, he held the position of Vice President of the Assistance Division of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in Atlanta, Georgia. During his career at INPO, he managed the radiological protection, plant analysis and engineering support departments.

Tom Mitchell also has considerable operations experience. At Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, he served as Manager of Operations Support, Director of Site Engineering, and Site Vice President. During the period of his involvement at Peach Bottom, the performance of the plant changed from being a regulatory shutdown to a recognized leader in safe and reliable operation.

Tom Mitchell’s involvement in the nuclear industry has extended outside the United States. He served as the Deputy Director of the Atlanta Center for the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), where he was involved in WANO activities in several parts of the world including CANDU plants at Bruce, Darlington, Pickering, Point Lepreau, Cernavoda and KNPP. Tom is a member of the Governing Board of the Atlanta Centre of WANO, and is the Chair-elect for 2012-2014.

Tom Mitchell holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Cornell University.

Tom has a strong interest in historical preservation, and is currently on the Board of Parkwood Foundation which manages the historical estate of J.S. McLaughlin in Oshawa, Ontario.

Robert Boguski
Senior Vice President, Business Services and Information Technology

Rob Boguski is Senior Vice President, Business Services and Information Technology at OPG. His primary accountabilities are to deliver shared services for the corporation including Information Technology, Real Estate, Facilities, Business Services, Fleet management, and Corporate Supply Chain. He also has process ownership and accountabilities across OPG for managing the Supply Chain, Corporate Services and Facilities, and Information Management and Technology.

Rob Boguski was appointed to his current position in April 2008 and previously held the position of Vice President, Nuclear Supply Chain since May 2005.

Prior to joining OPG, he was an Owner and Managing Partner for Epilog Services Inc. He has also held the positions of Vice President, Supply Chain at TransAlta Corporation and Vice President, Distribution and Logistics at Molson Canada. He was a Director for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and he has held management positions with Petro-Canada. He was also a Commissioned Officer in both the Regular and Reserve Canadian Armed Forces.

Rob Boguski holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Victoria and is a professional member of the Logistics Institute. He was a member of the Advisory Committee to Mount Royal College, Bissett School of Business, and has held a number of Board of Director accountabilities for Brewers' Distributor Ltd.

Bruce Boland
Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs

Bruce Boland is Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, at OPG. He is responsible for Public Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Energy Markets, Sustainable Development, Emergency Preparedness and Corporate Strategy. He also serves as Chair of OPG Ventures. Prior to 2005, he served as Senior Vice President, Customer Solutions, Senior Vice President, Energy Markets and Vice President, Regulatory Affairs.

Bruce Boland served as a member of the Electricity Conservation and Supply Task Force, which published its report in January 2004. He was also a member of the Province’s Market Design Committee on electricity restructuring in 1998/99. He served as a Board Member of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), then the Independent Electricity Market Operator (IMO) from 1999 to early 2005. He is also a former member of the Board of the Ontario Energy Association (OEA).

Bruce Boland joined Ontario Hydro, the predecessor company of OPG, in 1982. He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, is a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Director of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Frank Chiarotto, P. Eng
Senior Vice President, Thermal

Frank Chiarotto is the Senior Vice President, Thermal at OPG. He was appointed to this position in November 2008. Currently, Frank is responsible for OPG’s five thermal stations and represents OPG’s interest on 2 Joint Venture gas fired facilities (Portlands Energy Centre and Brighton Beach Plant).

Frank began his career at Ontario Hydro in 1974 in the Thermal Generation Division. He has held numerous positions in the organization working in both technical services functions and plant operations. He has progressively moved through supervisory, section head and managerial positions in Head Office in Toronto and at the generating stations around the province.

Frank's wide ranging experience includes Station Manager of Atikokan GS (1991), Production Manager at Nanticoke GS (1993) and Plant Manager at Lambton GS (1997 to 2007). Prior to his appointment as SVP Fossil, Frank was the Plant Manager of Nanticoke GS.

Born in Italy and raised in Alberta and Ontario, Frank attended the University of Toronto, graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with honours in Chemical Engineering. He has subsequently attended Queens University and the University of Western Ontario Richard Ivey Schools of Business Programs. Frank currently lives in Toronto with his wife. He has two sons who also live in Toronto.

Carlo Crozzoli, C.A.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Business Development and Chief Risk Officer

Carlo Crozzoli is Senior Vice President, Corporate Business Development and Chief Risk Officer, at OPG. Mr. Crozzoli was appointed to his current position in December 2011. His primary responsibilities are coordinating OPG’s corporate development activities, leading OPG’s strategic planning process and overseeing the company’s risk management activities. He is a member of the OPG Executive Leadership Team and is an officer of the Corporation.

Prior to his current appointment in OPG, Mr. Crozzoli was Vice President, Hydroelectric Development where he led the development and construction of a large portfolio of hydroelectric development projects and was part of the Hydroelectric Management Team. Mr. Crozzoli began his career with OPG in 1999 and has served in various roles with increasing responsibility in the areas of information technology, business development and project development.

Prior to joining OPG, Mr. Crozzoli worked at Ernst & Young in the accounting and audit practice and later joined its management consulting practice, serving clients primarily in the energy, manufacturing and mining industries. Mr. Crozzoli obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University, is a Chartered Accountant, completed the Construction Industry Institute Executive Leadership Program through the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and sits on the Board of Advisors of the Construction Industry Institute.

Donn W. J. Hanbidge, C.A.
Chief Financial Officer

Donn Hanbidge is Chief Financial Officer at OPG. Donn Hanbidge was appointed to his current position in 2005. He is responsible for providing financial leadership and operational support to OPG’s business units and corporate groups. He has overall accountability for the controllership function, internal audit, accounting, reporting, taxation, business and investment planning, treasury, pension and nuclear fund management, and financial communications. He is a member of OPG’s Enterprise Leadership Team. In 2008, Donn Hanbidge was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. Mr. Hanbidge was previously Vice President, Controller from 1999 to 2005. Prior to joining OPG, Donn Hanbidge held various financial management roles with Union Gas Limited. He provided leadership in corporate financial reporting, financial planning, and investment decision support and analysis. Donn Hanbidge began his career with Ernst & Young in the accounting and audit practice, and later joined Ernst & Young’s consulting practice where he provided financial and general management consulting services to a broad range of companies, including those in the oil and gas, transportation, lottery, and health care industries. Mr. Hanbidge obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Accountant.

Barb Keenan
Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Ethics Officer

Barb Keenan was appointed to her current position in March 2010. She is responsible for the development of human resource strategies that support OPG’s business goals, including enhanced employee engagement, employer of choice through recruiting, succession planning and building successful relationships with OPG’s unions and partners. She is also responsible for strategies and programs supporting safety and employee wellness. As Chief Ethics Officer, she is accountable for implementation of OPG’s Code of Business Conduct and for ensuring accessibility and responsiveness to employee concerns.

Barb Keenan joined Ontario Hydro in 1989. Barb Keenan has held various roles in Human Resources at OPG and Ontario Hydro (the predecessor company of OPG). Prior to this appointment, Barb was the Vice President - Nuclear Human Resources and Employee Safety, and Vice President - Corporate Human Resources and Employee Safety. In these roles, Barb Keenan has been accountable for the overall management, leadership, direction and support for providing products and services designed to enhance business performance in the areas of leadership development, workforce and succession planning, recruitment, change management, employee communications and nuclear and corporate security. From 2000 – 2006 Barb Keenan worked with Capgemini Canada as Vice President – Human Resources for Outsourcing and later the broader organization.

Barb Keenan is an Honours Arts graduate from the University of Toronto, a Certified HR Planning Professional and Certified Human Resources and Compensation Committee Director.

John Murphy
Executive Vice President, Hydro

Mr. Murphy was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President, Hydro, in November 2005. Mr. Murphy’s hydro accountabilities include oversight of OPG’s fleet of 65 clean, renewable hydroelectric generating stations and 231 water control dams on 24 river systems across Ontario. Mr. Murphy oversees a wide range of capacity improvements to OPG’s hydroelectric fleet which to date have added 450 MW of capacity.

Mr. Murphy is responsible for all new hydroelectric projects. These include the Niagara Tunnel Project, Upper Mattagami and Hound Chute, Healey Falls, as well as the 440 MW Lower Mattagami Project.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Murphy was OPG’s Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Ethics Officer from 2000 to 2005.

Throughout his career, Mr. Murphy has served on the Board of Directors of a number of organizations including: Ontario Hydro, OPG, the Electrical Safety Authority, the First Ontario Investment Fund, the ABC Literacy Foundation, and the Canadian Labour and Business Centre. He is also a former director of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships.

Mr. Murphy is currently a Director on the Board of the Meridian Credit Union and Chair of their Compensation Committee. He is President of the Electrical Power Systems Construction Association.

John Murphy completed the Advanced Program in Human Resources Management at the University of Toronto and the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan. He is also a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).

Wayne Robbins
Chief Nuclear Officer

Wayne Robbins is the Chief Nuclear Officer at OPG. Wayne Robbins was appointed to this position June 1, 2009. He reports to Tom Mitchell, President & CEO. Prior to this position Wayne was the Senior Vice President, Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. He was appointed to this position in December 2006. He reported directly to the Chief Nuclear Officer and was responsible for the strategic direction, planning and execution required to achieve nuclear production targets at Darlington, while focusing on safety and reliability.

In 2008, Wayne was named OPG’s Power Within Leader of the Year and in 2009, was honoured with the Ontario Energy Association leadership award.

September 2005 he was appointed to the position of Deputy Vice President, Darlington Nuclear. He reported directly to the Senior Vice President of Darlington and was responsible for support organizations (Strategic Planning, Finance, Performance Improvement, Security, Emergency Response, Regulatory Affairs) and assisting the Senior Vice President in station oversight.

Before arriving back to Darlington in September 2005 Wayne was the Director of Operations and Maintenance, Pickering B Nuclear Generating Station. Wayne's experience in operations, maintenance and success in outages was invaluable in meeting the challenges of the extensive outage program for Pickering B.

Before his appointment to Pickering B, Wayne held the same position at Pickering A Nuclear Generating Station where he was responsible for overall station operation, strategic planning and process improvements to achieve station targets and long-term station reliability.

Wayne joined Ontario Power Generation, formerly known as Ontario Hydro, in 1980. He was initially employed as a Commissioning Engineer at Pickering B, and also worked on Pickering A’s Retube Project before moving to Darlington Nuclear in 1985. At Darlington, Wayne held several positions including Commissioning Engineer, Shift Operating Supervisor, Fuel Handling Supervisor and then Shift Manager. Wayne was then promoted and held various Management positions such as Maintenance Manager, Outage Manager and Authorized Duty Manager.

Prior to 1980, Wayne worked with McLaren Consulting Firm, where he was involved in field engineering activities.

Wayne was born in Bancroft, Ontario and obtained his Bachelor Degree in Applied Science from Queen’s University. He and his wife, Jane, have three children. Their two sons currently live and work in the Durham Region and their daughter works in the Bancroft area.

Albert Sweetnam
Executive Vice President, Nuclear Projects

Albert Sweetnam is Executive Vice President, Nuclear Projects at Ontario Power Generation Inc. (OPG).

Mr. Sweetnam was appointed to his current position in January, 2009 and is responsible for project management oversight of the design, construction, licensing and commissioning of the Nuclear New Build project including developing the organizational capability to operate the facility, managing senior level stakeholder relations as well as overseeing the completion of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process currently underway with Infrastructure Ontario. In June of 2011, Albert became responsible for leading the preparation and ultimate execution of nuclear refurbishment projects within OPG as well as managing the overall Nuclear Operations project portfolio. This includes the upcoming Darlington Refurbishment program. In addition, Albert is responsible within OPG for oversight of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) work activities including Used Fuel Management – APM (adaptive phase management), Lifecycle Liability Management (LLM) and managing OPG’s interests in the development and construction of a new nuclear Deep Geological Repository (DGR) that is planned to be used as the long-term storage location for OPG’s non-fuel radioactive materials.

Prior to joining OPG, he was a Senior Vice President with SNC Lavalin, Canada’s largest engineering construction company. Most recently, Mr. Sweetnam was the Project Director of the US $3.5 billion Ambatovy Project in Madagascar. Prior to this, he managed SNC Lavalin’s Infrastructure, Construction, Engineering and Environment Divisions in Ontario, Manitoba and several offshore locations. He has extensive expertise in the design, execution and commissioning phases of large complex multidisciplinary projects in Canada and internationally.

Mr. Sweetnam has wide-ranging worldwide experience having managed SNC Lavalin’s engineering and construction operations in West Africa for thirteen years and has also executed projects in southern Africa, Asia and South America.

Mr. Sweetnam has sat on the Boards of the Canadian Council for Private Public Partnerships, the Toronto Construction Association, the Consulting Engineers of Ontario and the Community Share Food Bank.

Mr. Sweetnam graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo and received a diploma in business administration from Ryerson University. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering and a member of various professional engineering organizations in Canada, the United States and Africa.
